Located at 200 Bay St., Toronto, ON M5J 2T6, Canada, Louis Bon Bon Cafe & Patisserie is a charming coffee shop that offers a welcoming atmosphere and an impressive selection of sweet and savory menu items. From the moment I stepped inside, the space felt warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a casual break, a quick takeout order, or a relaxed visit with family and friends. The wheelchair accessible entrance also makes the cafe easy to enjoy for a wide range of guests.

One of the standout aspects of Louis Bon Bon Cafe & Patisserie is its dessert selection. The Chocolate Gelato is rich, smooth, and satisfying, while the Chocolate Croissant delivers a flaky texture with a delicious chocolate-filled center. For visitors searching through reviews before choosing a coffee shop in this location, these treats alone make the cafe worth a visit. The display of Mini Cakes and Cappuccino combinations adds even more appeal, especially for guests looking to enjoy an afternoon indulgence.

Beyond desserts, the menu includes several savory options that balance the sweet offerings perfectly. The Mediterranean Toast provides fresh flavors and a satisfying bite, making it a popular choice for breakfast or lunch. The Open Faced Sandwiches are another highlight, offering a simple yet flavorful option for those who prefer something light. These menu selections help create a well-rounded experience that goes beyond a typical patisserie visit.

What impressed me most was how family-friendly the environment felt. “ It’s a small spot near Union Station, tucked away in Toronto’s underground PATH. There are just a few tables — perfect for coffee, desserts, and light snacks. They also serve ice cream — both sorbets and gelatos. I’ve combined a couple of visits into this single review. Sorbet: Passionfruit + Cassata Gelato and Rafaello Gelato The coconut flavor in the Rafaello gelato was rich, with delicate coconut shavings. Its sweet creaminess paired beautifully with the fresh, pleasantly tart Passionfruit sorbet, creating a great contrast. However, I was far more impressed by the so-called Cassata Gelato. Why “so-called”? Because a classic Sicilian Cassata gelato traditionally features multiple layers of different gelato flavors, candied fruits, and almond-infused marzipan. In this case, the most important part of the Cassata — the ricotta base — was present, along with tiny chocolate “crumbs.” The rich, creamy sweetness of the ricotta gelato created a wonderfully elegant contrast with the bright, tangy Passionfruit sorbet. Gelato: Melon, Mango, and Crème Caramel The Crème Caramel was overly sweet and rather dull. Even the light, fresh melon gelato couldn’t make the experience much more interesting. The mango gelato was nice, but overall, their gelato selection is noticeably weaker than their cakes. The service is friendly and quick. Overall, it’s a lovely little place for chatting over coffee and dessert — or ice cream, depending on the season and weather. ”

“ I love pastries. I had been to Lad**ée for the macarons but the place was closed. On the way back I saw Louis bon bon. Ordered a couple of pistachio pastries. Had one of the worst experiences with the quality of pastries. 1. Stale and dry 2. Too too sugary sweet 3. No flavour It was like consuming a spoonful of sugar and cream. I would never visit this place again. Staff is good, Ambiance is okay. ”
